Franchise going down will probably ease the pain of not going up.

I shouldn't think so.

If they do go down, the MK Dons will be playing the likes of Bristol Rovers, Swindon, Walsall and Wrexham next season. Meanwhile, AFC Wimbledon will be taking on Billericay Town, East Thurrock United, Folkestone Invicta and Harrow Borough.

The side who beat AFC Wimbledon last night have an average attendance this season of 217. I think that puts things firmly in perspective.

May I be the first to congratulate Fisher Athletic though.

Their ground is based about 10 minutes walk from me so are my "local" team at the moment (Apart from Millwall) but currently groundshare at Dulwich Hamlet.

My local pub team played Fisher (lost abut 12-1), when they were playing at Mitcham before they found a ground at Rotherhithe and we got invited to their end of season bash at The Guildhall, no less, the following night. Gerry Francis, who I met, was presenting the raffle prizes and people bid £1,000 for a signed West Ham (who won the cup the year before) ball and the ball was then put back in the draw. Some serious cash going around, but the highlight was that Jim Davidson was booked for the entertainment, but scrubbed by the organisers when they found out that he'd put up some money for the blokes to abduct RONNIE BIGGS from Brazil.... some serious faces involved in that club.
