High flying Bournemouth (4th), entertain BHA (21st) in front of the cameras at the Goldsands Stadium, still Dean Court in my eyes, late Saturday afternoon. The Cherries, with a win, could top the Championship by the end of the night. The Seagulls could find themselves in the bottom 3 before kickoff, if either Bolton or Birmingham muster a win on Saturday. Who would have thought that a club with a 12,000 capacity, managed by Eddie Howe with Tommy Elphick in the side would be doing so well. Fair play to them.
Bournemouth have the best goal difference in the league, helped by the thrashing against Birmingham (8-0) away, whilst the Seagulls have failed to score more than one goal in their last 8 league matches.
The sides have met many times over the years, the record is consistent. 37 wins each & 28 draws. The last 4 meetings have resulted in 3 draws & 1 defeat. We last won in Dorset in 2007. Our record away is poor, 2 wins, 2 draws & 6 defeats (in the past 10 meetings). Clutching at a stat - both matches played in the Championship between the sides have ended in draws.
Wouldn't now be a good time, for our 10 league matches without a win to come to an end? The fans deserve far more than what they are being served. Are we the most patient set of supporters in the nation?
