Whats this then, A thread full of pedantic people. Aerials are not generally sold as being 'digital'. If somebody needs an aerial , they pay for an aerial, there is no extra charge because it receives digital. You are lucky to receive freeview so easily but as for your metal on the end of a cable theory, oh dear. That is why they make FM & dab aerials different. You don't get a lot of TV reception off of those metallic items.

Of course aerials are made of different materials and design but they work in a similiar fashion. But the important point is the aerials aren't digital.

The need for a better aerial is more to do with a weak signal that the "digital" nature of the transmission.

It's misleading to sell them as such and has led to many people paying over the odds for something they don't often require.
 


You need to talk to someone who understands the technology and is amember of either the CAI (Confederation of Aerial Industries) or the RDMI (Registered Digital Installers)
