Sometimes you just have to win ugly. We've been there before, we're there today. It wasn't pretty, but it's a win and we're through to the next round. People wrongly made us easy favourites to go through a group with Ajax, Marseille and Athens in it. What an insanely hard group to qualify from and they've done it with a game to go. So proud of them.

Tonight, take a bow Verbruggen, Igor, Dunky, Veltman and Hinshelwood, you were brilliant tonight. That call from Verbruggen right at the end shows how good at such a young age he is. Very reassuring.

Off to have a bevvie now I can relax 😁

Eagerly awaiting comments from those who were there, sounds like we were not at our best but still nicked it.

Which is always a good feeling.

Amazing result. Well battled lads. Another clean sheet!

Now I hope their manager can go and get a bloody haircut. Poor guy. He looked like a rabbit in headlights most of that game.

We’ve won, but some awful performances. Spent all night with sh1t first touches and decision making on the counter.

Igor, Verbruggen and Dunk the exceptions.

Gilmour, Gross, Mitoma, Hinshelwood, Ferguson, Dahoud …. zero composure.
Harsh on Hinsh but agree with the rest. But it’s the sign of a good team to do that. And credit AEK - they offered more tonight than Ajax offered in both legs.
