Advice please.I have restored my PC

Overnight i have had to restore my PC to clear a virus. I saved what i had to and now am looking at which free software i can download.
I have installed AVG free edition, but is there any other free programmes i ought to consider to increase protection

Check out Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com. There are several things on there well worth downloading. For a start you could download Malwarebytes, very good at getting rid of spyware. However a more powerful offering is from IOBit, they have several free products that I use, I have the full versions on one of my PCs. ASC is great from housekeeping and getting rid of crap, well worth having. Be careful with IOBit Security as that goes mad and might delete something you want if yo're not careful. Also, you want a free Office suite ? Google and then download Open Office, it's fully compatible with MS Office. PM me if you want any help.

Malwarebytes is worth installing for regular check ups. If you go for this, use the update facility before any checks as it updates daily in an attempt to catch anything new out there
