I've checked some of the albums against similar on eBay to get an idea, but I feel I need to do more research. With regard to artists : The Who (Live at Leeds, Tommy, Quadrophenia, Who By Numbers, Who's Next), Led Zeppelin (Led Zep IV Symbols/ Physical Graffiti), Jethro Tull (Aqualung/ Double album - can't remember the title!), Yes (Close To The Edge/YesSongs)

Then I've got loads by various artists (eclectic me!) : Fairport Convention, Dory Previn, Neil Young, Barclay James Harvest, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lindisfarne, Elton John, Bad Company, Traffic, Eagles, Clapton, Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green), Supertramp, Stevie Wonder, Moody Blues, Genesis and the list goes on.

One possible gem - Tons of Sobs by Free. I bought this around 1974 at a secondhand record shop in Brighton, Church Street I think, for 50p. Anyway, it's a Japanese edition and I've seen the same album going for up to £400 on various sites.

The moral question for me now is should I hang on to them? I've replicated most of them by buying them on CD format. Decisions, decisions!

Other than the tons of sobs most of what you have listed is collectible but not rare. So much depends on condition and first press, e.g. the led zep 4 needs to be on the plum label, Tommy is worth more with the laminated sleeve(you may even need to look at the matrix numbers). Shop tend to give low prices but will tend to buy as a lot. As others have said cherry pick the best, ebay is still a good market especially for top condition. You can pm me if you have something a bit different that you want valued. I have 6 thousand so know a bit.

The thing is, that if you find you have a gold mine in vinyl, and you have copies on CD.
Keep them, as basically it's a asset worth keeping, should you get stuck somewhere down the line!

About 10 years back I tested the water by offering a significant collection of singles via eBay. (80+ Sarah records)
Top bid was over £800 on the proviso that I took them up to London ... the prospective buyer (who was a ****) transferred me £50 in advance.
On arrival he cherry picked a couple of dozen and offered me £300.
I told him to go **** himself, went and got drunk and left them in a pub somewhere in Battersea.
.
.
Be careful selling records.

I have the two LPs by High Tide on Liberty from 1969, and the first Clash album signed on the front by Joe Strummer. No, they aren't for sale......

Certainly worth considering - I'll have to climb into the loft and check them out, along with my Albion memorabilia going back to reign of the old king!

Really is a tough one. Depends how much you need the money- you are selling at a good time though with vinyl regaining popularity.

I sold all mine (mostly 70s/80s punk/new wave/glam) on Ebay after doing some research. I was very honest about condition and only had two complaints out of about 500 sales (one was genuine, one was a **** but not worth arguing). Got decent prices for them.

Yup, used with care, eBay can be fine. I've bought and sold on there since 2001 and had few issues.

NB Worthing-based vinyl fans should make a beeline for St Paul's Arts Centre on Saturday 27 Jan - if you're not going to Boro for the Cup game of course - as we've got the first Record Fair of 2018 (10.30-3pm, free entry). LPs from £1, singles from 50p, CDs, cassettes, memorabilia and more. Nice cafe on site

I've been using Discogs for years as a buyer and have found it to be very reliable and an excellent resource page as well.

Discogs is a good site - have bought quite a few from them over the last 12 months.

With regards to the term 'Mint' I suspect most don't really know that in terms of vinyl, Mint means NEVER played.

My advice, don’t do it. I sold all my vinyl when I was a student. A collection accumulated over 10 years or so including some absolute gems like the first ever record from Creation in a folder paper sleeve and plastic bag. I have regretted it pretty much ever since. In fact over the past 5-10 years I have slowly been trying to replace them all.

If you need cash whore yourself....but don’t do something as drastic as sell your vinyl.

If you don't want too much hassle and prefer to see as a collection The Sound Machine in Reading are good, and they will call to look at collection and take the whole collection off you, if you are happy with their valuation.
If you have one or two more valuable copies, it is worth looking at eil.com who are in Kent.

Obviously by using a dealer you will get less as they will want their mark up, but id you are happy to sell and post then as others have mentioned discogs,
