I'm pretty sure what is happening is the code is somehow messing with the page such that when you click on an internal NSC link, somehow it's being interpreted as you clicking on one of the ad banners somewhere else on the page.@Bozza
I haven’t been able to record it, but today, I have been redirected to Amazon, Sage and Adobe photos, simply by trying to open threads or reply.
It‘s constantly refreshing itself especially when trying to reply.
Edit, sorry, I’ve just seen the above and I hope your Mum is okay.
Bit of a Catch-22 as the huge amount of ads make the site virtually unusable.Sorry - my mum's just had another fall and I need to get her to A&E.
I was hoping to take a good look at the ad setup today, but that's now not going to happen, but hopefully I'll get the chance to look properly later this week.
The Amazon redirect is a strange side effect of a new thing on the site. I'd re-enabled it to allow the vendor to test things, but as it's still ongoing today, I'll turn it off again now before I dash away.
As ever - there is no intention to piss people off. There is a balance to be struck on ads, and I always aim to have it so that most reasonable people accept what I put on the site. I could turn ads off for me, but I always use the site with the same ad setup as everyone else.
I know there is a hardcore of people who are anti-ad and will block all the ads all the time, which is a shame for NSC, but it is what it is.
Try it with Opera or another browser. For whatever reason - probably linked to the ads though there could be other stuff - the NSC + Chrome combo is dire, at least for me.This site is destroying the charge on my iPad. It seems to be just this site, via Chrome, I can almost watch the battery level click down. If I shut this site then all goes back to normal. What the hell is it doing in the background?
