Sometimes I'm amazed at how the adverts on NSC are tailored to me. Does NSC give permission to these ad companies to log what I'm doing and advertise back through here

I just got this advert: Seagull Spikes Deterrent Buy Defender™ Seagull Spikes Today. Humanely Stop Seagulls From Landing.

Not sure this should be allowed on this website!

It's all part of a new mind reading drug Google have secretly developed to increase their advertising revenue, it allows them to access your mind over wifi so they know exactly what you are thinking about and pump the correct adverts to you. The only way to block the signal is to wrap a saucepan in tinfoil and wear it on your head.

I'm not all that savvy about the intricacies involved but I often remove all the cookies from my browser that don't seem to belong there. The last time I did this I found that some reappear straight away, no matter how many times you remove them. I googled about them and found that they are a kind of spyware, commissioned by large concerns from companies that specialise in this kind of software. They are very difficult to remove but are supposed to be unharmful in the main but I don't know. That's why you get "tailored" adverts, when I'm on here I get ads about Belgian stuff, bloody annoying but unfortunately it's the (computer) world we live in!

It's not just the advertising on NSC (and other websites). It's a phenomenon that is spilling over into real life.

I'm now finding it very difficult to visit Brighton without encountering visions of dozens of professional footballers who are out of contract. And, even when I avert my eyes, I see zombies hanging around outside Thai restaurants. Has anyone else noticed that the Lewes Road railway viaduct has suddenly been rebuilt? And I'm sure I saw a woman not buying a parking ticket the other day.

I also just got the ad for oriental women and I know for sure that I haven't been searching for anything of that ilk (not on this PC:blush:)

Maybe Bozza is getting a cut for all business sent their way?
