I use Chrome on my computer and on my phone, there are a few ads but they don't feel too invasive.

I couldn't even tell you what they are for.

Just scrolled down and one is for boutique new build home... Which, google, I am not in the market for.

It's got far worse in the past few months. I'm not complaining, just stating that there's a huge increase in adverts on my mobile.

For example, here is what I adverts see when looking thru this thread.

Page 1 full first screen advert mid thread:

Second full screen advert mid thread on page 1:

Page 2, smaller foot banner and medium mid thread advert:

Page 2 full screen advert mid thread:

Page 3 advert (only 2 posts on page 3):

So you have to scroll through pages of adverts between the posts. Annoying that I'm being targeted for Santander adverts when I've been with them for about 30 years, back in the Alliance and Leicester days.

It's never been like this before.

Sorry people are having issues.

I've got a lot going on away from NSC so I've not been on here as much as normal over the past couple of months, but I do still have the site open a fair bit on both desktop and mobile and I have the same version of the site as non-patrons so I get the full ad experience. I've not noticed it any worse at all recently.

It's always a fine balance, of course - we'd all probably chose to have no ads at all if we could, but a site as big and busy as this costs a lot to run.

There was one change made last week which may involve a video ad on occasion in one particular ad unit. Because of what I've got going on, I've just not had a chunk of time to look at that more closely, in order to ensure that logged-in users do not get the video ad. Some ads, particularly on mobile are animated, but not full on videos.

I'll try to check that out later this evening.

Things have definitely got worse for me via my mobile. The video ads seem to have an impact when replying to a thread, for some reason, the page goes to the top so then have to scroll back down the where I was writing my reply

Generally don't use ad block but its really rough to use the site in some browsers when the Sky Sports-videos/ads show up, which it does quite a lot for me. No idea if anyone else has this problem?

When logged in you would only get the Sky Sports unit in the sidebar of the home page, ie here: https://nortr3nixy.nimpr.uk/

Most users skip by that page pretty quickly. You won't get it on the Big Board nor on any threads.

Users who aren't logged in get it more, but that's easily remedied by logging in/registering.

Hmm yeah true, its only on that page now when you mention it. Unfortunately I use the primitive way of navigating through pressing "Home" or the banner. But could work around that of course.

Desktop it's fine. Mobile with the full screen ads is not unusable but certainly more of a PITA than it was. But it's nowhere near as bad as the Argus site which I refuse point blank to use now on any platform.

My issue is less the ads and more that typing gets really slow. I’m using Safari on mobile - which is the best to switch to (there’s a number listed above and so would appreciate a consensus/majority view as I’m too lazy to try lots of different ones out)

Of course not, no.

Mine say "Hot horny single women in Worthing want your cock now"
Wonder what the output is, if you live on Boundary road / Station Road /Carlton Terrace, “Hot horny single women in a neighbouring district”

I am happy to offer anyone a “piggy back” membership for just £89.99* a month.

*new members only. £150.00 set up fee. Not available in Croydon.
I would have thought an even bigger fee for us Croydon types, to try to discourage us, but if we can still browse for free, then we will be happy

It’s more of a tech issue in Croydon than any prejudice. Very tricky to install in caravans.
