I think it's fair to say our development team have watched every minute of football he's played this season
You're right i'm sure, but when you've got the lad in the door, you can see how he trains, how he adapts to our style, how he integrates into the country.

I'm sure the club have got it in hand, but giving him the rest of the season in Romania would seem to me to be the option with the fewest obvious upsides.

I read and posted on NSC somewhere, cannot remember, that he was coming back to the Albion after being loaned out from initial purchase

He hasn’t been on loan.

We haven’t completed his signing yet. We agreed terms with him and his club. As he was only 17 and didn’t turn 18 until after the summer window closed he’s unable to join us until the January transfer window. Hopefully we will hear something soon, if as speculated we want him out on loan I imagine the announcement of him signing and going on loan somewhere will happen at the same time.

Reading the article it seems that the Romanian sports journalist thinks Mazilu is not ready and needs another loan period, it was not clear where that might be or at what level, at this stage he could be one of those prospects we never get to see a couple of loans is then sold on only to find he’s playing for Real Madrid in five years

Google Chrome can translate this for you. Not much to see, just an article suggesting he needs an intermediate step as he isn't ready for the premier league. Ciprian Marica quoted is a former footballer and a minority shareholder in Farul Constanța (Mazilu's current club), so may have some inside knowledge on the next steps.
USG?

Providing the assists for Viktor Gyökeres to power home en route to the Ballon d'Or?

An awful lot of reports indicate that we did actually sign him in July for £2.5m.

Those reports are wrong. The club reported in July that we’d reach an agreement for him to join in January 2024. He couldn’t sign for us before January as he was under 18 in the previous window and FIFA rules prevent under 18s from transferring across nations (unless local law, like the EU right to live and work law, supersede this).

All of them? Ok then.

It all seems very quiet, but on his Instagram feed there is a message from the official Romanian Superliga account on 21 December wishing him good luck in the Premier League, so unless something dramatic has happened since then he's ours.

Just a bit odd that nothing has been announced yet. Maybe he's not been available for press shots etc.?

News from the summer:

I think those saying he didn't sign are being a little pedantic. The deal was sewn up back in July. I imagine more than a few people would be very angry if we managed to back out of it now.

Yup. Not sure why people are expecting a big fan fair when he arrives. He’s a development squad signing for goodness sake!
