I have to say Villa seem to spending very well. I thought they'd remain a basket case club this season, but I am now having to revise that. They will be right in the promotion mix.

Villa have signed Albert Adomah from Boro.

It's quite a squad they're putting together.

It was going to be quite exciting. I just hope our midfield is strong enough to compete. Disappointingly not so at Newcastle.

Ha! The same tactic is being used to some extent by Norwich & Newcastle (and oddly parachute paymentless Derby). Buy up the best specialist championship players and sell most of them when you get promoted.

I was about to say the same thing. Seems lessons have been learned from past failures.

Excellent player. Easily good enough for the Premier League but with the takeover by the Chinese fella he's probably on better money than somewhere like Middlesbrough or Burnley. Always seems to play well against Brighton.

£8m is a lot of money thoughfor a 28 year old with little sell on value. I make that over £50m worth of talent in Villa's forward options alone.

Adomah - 8m
McCormack - 12m
Gestede - 7m
Ayew - 12m
Kodija - 15m
