If you were only expecting a point from the first 4 then one assumes you were hoping for a draw at home to Wigan. What on earth would be your total season objective be in that case ... 7 or 8 ???

No, we always start crap (last season aside) so knew we wouldn't get anything from the game. I did however expect a point at home to utd as we often have close games with them. I expect us to now go on and pick up a few points in our next few games.

Often?

How often have you played Utd, in the league over the last 5 years?

How can this poor start happen to the SEVENTH highest spending club in Europe!

Oh yes he forgot to buy a couple of defenders.

JJB is referring to those close run games in the 1970's when both sides were always in the bottom 5 of the table

I'll amend that, over the last 8 years?

And that season you lost 3-0 there, and 1-2 at home to confirm your relegation.

Best not forget the 4-0 hammering in the FA cup 1/4's that season.

I'm enjoying this.

I am of an age where I am used to being a premier league side, so none over the last 5 years. The fact of the matter is we should have done them last week, and I have full confidence we'll turn over the pricks from Aston.

Good luck to you! Villa (who the pundits were drooling over today) Everton (that'll be a blank then) and a Berbatov inspired Fulham.

TBH I don't want you to get relegated .. nout to do with that Adkins goon who won't be there by the time we get to play you next (2013-14 I hope)

2000/2001 lost 5-0, but won 2-1. In the penultimate game of the season to the Champions.
2001/2002 lost 6-1 and 3-1
2002/2003 lost 2-1 and 2-0
2003/2004 won 1-0 but lost 3-2
2004/2205 lost 3-0 and 2-1

6 points out of a maximum of 30.

...........or could be referring to the season when Southampton finished second.

Why the hell are we bothering about Southampton anyway? - they're just another football club, not even playing in the same league as us.

Seriously, if Albion had somehow sneaked into the playoffs and flukily won them last season, and were then presented with City, Utd and Arsenal as 3 of your first 4 games, how do you think you would have fared so far. At least we both now know what its like to lose 6-1 to a giant but your own goals were far more hilarious than ours.
