He was. He was put into the Development Squad with the challenge to push for first team contention. As you'll see from the club statement, it seems to be because he failed to do that that he has now moved on.

Yes. In the Argus on December 27 Simon Rusk said:-

"Undisclosed fee" according to the club statement. Hopefully to help fund bringing in our striker target without breaching FFP.

Would he benefit from a slower pace? I get the impression the tempo of English football did not suit him. Abroad is probably a great move for him & Malaga. Best of the luck to him.
