More than good enough to be a squad player, good hold up player and incredibly strong. Does no-one remember the last time we played at sixfields (or the time before?) when he tore us apart.
Considering we currently have 1 striker i consider good enough, and we need 4 imo (im sure we cant afford 3 more top strikers), he is well worth a look!

Wouldn't have this player in the reserves, He's shite nowhere near the quality we are looking for these days. Did he even score last season?? We have a player that never scores in Holroyd we don't need another!

He scored 17 goals last season, and 15 in league 1 in a relegated side. Better than having Holroyd or Davies off the bench.

Indeed, some people are clueless. Much much better. If we're playing one up front again i'd rather have him as an alternative to Murray than anyone else we've got.

Don't know if he has been brought up on here.
Availiable on a free after leaving Northampton Town for Career/Family reasons, lives south London.
Interest from Aberdeen rumoured.
May want higher wages than we are willing to pay?
Any thoughts?

Well yeah actually, maybe not as a regular starter, but depending on signing on fees, salary demands etc. he could fill a role.

He is definately something different to what we've got anyway. But Akinfenwa or no Akinfenwa, l think we need another more established striker, or maybe even two.

Exactly.
I said it earlier, but we have 1 striker IMO good enough for this division at the current point in time. So we need theoretically 3 more, and we cannot afford 3 top strikers (one or two maybe), plus the idea that top strikers will not want to warm our bench. He would be good as 3rd/4th choice, a squad player if the wages arent out of this world.

I would be dissapointed if we sign Adebayo Akinfenwa that's all im saying! My expectations for the season would drop!

Not really a Gus type player is he
In my opinion he is underrated as a footballer because of his size and shape. He's not just a McCammon style donkey whose only attribute is being big. I think he'd be a good signing, don't see it happening though.

No chance........Darrius is on his way !!!!....I dont think ! Anyway Akinfenwa would score more goals. I like the guy,he is big and strong ,and will be up agaist, mean bastards like Virgo or Greer(maybe ) .....We IMO cannot just play our way out of this league,we will also need power and passion .

He would add a very physical element to our attack and could see him working pretty well with Murray. We need to be realisitic with our transfer expectations and would see this as both a realistic and decent signing bearing in mind he is availiable as a free transfer.

High up on the South Downs.
Benson of D&R is simply a better player. Sorry. I don't know if Benson would do it for us but Akinfenwa has always looked very limited. Scored against us when Colin "Plank" Hawkins failed to mark him.

Just not good enough if we want promotion...

Not a Gus-type player either, IMHO...

Under Slade, a definite possibility... under Gus a No...
