Calling all you statto's out there. How many games this season have we scored in added time to gain points and how many times have we conceded to lose points? It seems we have conceded more than we have scored in added time!

Peterborough, gained 3 points.

Wolves, Bolton and Brum, lost 1 point each. Seems to be neutral at the moment.

Erm.....are you sure?
Wolves, Bolton and Brum we turned wins into draws - by my Maths that's 2 points lost per game = 6 points lost total.
versus 2 points gained against P'boro (draw to a win)......
so nett diff is 4 points lost. Yes?

Put another way we would have had 9pts for Wolves, Bolton and Brum and 1pt for Pboro = 10pts
We got 6pts from those games so the Nett loss is 4pts......

Glad you lot are not my accountants !

If you just want added time and not the last five minutes:

Peterborough we scored: 90+2 at 0-0 gaining 2 points

Bolton we conceded: 90+5mins at 1-0, 2 points dropped
Birmingham we conceded: 90+2 at 1-0, 2 points dropped
Wolves we conceded 90+1min at 3-2, 2pts dropped

If you include the last five minutes of regular time

Burnley we scored: 88min already 2-1 up, no points won.

Hull we conceded: 85min at 0-0, 1 point dropped
Huddersfield we conceded: 90mins at 2-0, 0 points dropped

Wolves we scored: 89min making it 3-2. We conceded 90+1min making it 3-3. Do you consider that 2pts dropped or no difference?

Cheers. I was interested in going back about 10 season or so, I wouldn't want to work that all out by hand so I wanted some software or website that would do it for me.

90th minute goals from the title winning season:

Oldham (h) +2
Exeter (a) +2
Carlisle (h) +2

Bournemouth (h) - 2
Bristol Rovers (h) - 2
Huddersfield (h) - 2 (although a dead-rubber game)

The -2 v Bournemouth doesn't count as it was the result of the most farcical officiating decision in the history of football.

Goals in the 90th minute and beyond that have affected the outcome of a result, since Poyet took over (I think) -

09/10 season:

Bristol Rovers (h) +2
Stockport (a) +1
Exeter (a) +2

Leeds (a) - 2

10/11 season:

Oldham (h) +2
Exeter (a) +2
Carlisle (h) +2

Bournemouth (h) - 2
Bristol Rovers (h) - 2
Huddersfield (h) - 1 (although a dead-rubber game)

11/12 season:

Doncaster (h) + 2
Forest (h) + 2
Leicester (h) + 2
Leeds (a) + 2

Blackpool (h) - 2
Leeds (h) - 2
Forest (a) - 2

12/13 season:

Peterborough (h) +2

Bolton (h) -2
Wolves (a) - 2
Birmingham (a) - 2

Interesting that most of our late conceded goals have turned winning positions into draws, and most of the late goals we've scored have turned drawing positions into wins. Would go against the argument that Poyet happily settles for draws (if there is such an argument). Might also show that when we're drawing going into the 90th minute we seem to defend better, perhaps because we're pushing for a goal ourselves and therefore the defence doesn't come under as much pressure? Could also of course be because the opposition have more to lose when in a drawing position, so don't throw as many players forward searching for a goal.

Erm, so overall if we take last 5 mins plus added time it's:

Peterboro 2 pts gained
Bolton 2 pts dropped
Birm 2 pts dropped
Hull 1 pt dropped

Total: 3 points dropped.

So, since the start of last season, have we ever been losing a game, but got back in front and then NOT conceded a last minute equaliser?
