Albion boss Micky Adams dedicated tonight's 3-2 win over former club Leicester City to the club's fans. Trailing 2-0 at the break Albion turned things around in the second half, with debutant Bradley Johnson scoring twice, and Adams beamed, "I was desparate to get a win for the Albion fans!
"That has not only given the crowd some confidence - but also myself and the players. Let's hope it kick starts us. Whether we had a bit of luck tonight I am not sure, but I thought the second half was as good as we have played all season."
At half-time Adams changed his side and shape, bringing on Dean Cox and Kevin Thornton, and added, "They say 2-0 is a scoreline you shouldn't feel comfortable with and I expressed to the squad at half-time that we needed to get the next goal.
"Kevin Thornton was magnificent. He handles the ball superbly, he's got great feet, he brings other people into play and he forces people to accept th ball. Dean Cox came on and produced as well. I don't know if I got lucky, but I think our shape and personel wasn't right in the first half."
Adams was also delighted with his two debutants, on-loan Leeds midfielder Johnson and keeper John Sullivan. "Bradley Johnson came down this morning, trained with the squad for an hour and they were two cracking goals.
"John also had a magnificent debut and John should be proud of that. Goalkeepers are looked upon for how many crosses they take and how many saves they make, he also kicked the ball well and put their back four under pressure. I am delighted for him."
Adams says he has the green light to bring in two strikers, but won't rush into any rash signing. "I have made a few signings which I would not say haven't worked, but the lads I have brought in haven't been as fit as they should have been. What I want to do now is shop around and make sure I bring in the right sort of personel as we have done with Bradley Johnson."
