Webster under De Zerbi feels like Duffy under Potter, he’s OK but we’re leaving him behind and he’s not adapting well

It's a shame as I like Webster - but he is clearly struggling at the moment and looks out of his depth in our side.

Sussex but not by the sea
Was exceptionally poor after the red, almost like playing with 9 men.

Having said that he always looked poor coming back into the team and needs a run of games to get back to his best.
This old chestnut again. So basically he’s no longer good enough given where TB aspires us to be. £20m was ridiculous.

He's lost his confidence, scared to take a risk so goes backwards ir sideways nearly every time. Was a bag of nerves in the last 15 mins.

Really, really poor second half. Loses his head so often. Can't sort he feet out at crosses. I was delighted not to see Mcburnie on the bench for them as he absolutely destroyed Webbie in 2019.

I think we need to move on from him now.

I don’t think anyone can blame him for the goal specifically. There were 5 or 6 errors directly before that that caused the goal.

Not that he had a great game, but he wasn’t to blame for their goal.

He has still got it chaps, if it's the own goal that some are trying to chuck him under the bus on. Look at 39 year Tiago Silva, he slotted a own goal in the corner. All defender even the best score own goals, let support him and stop looking for mistakes. He did do some great tackles today. Today performance and recent ones all come down to not creating enough.

I didn’t realise he’d scored the OG (we’re NS) until mentioned on the radio an hour after the game.

During the game I thought he was error strewn.

His confidence has clearly taken a hit and with that has come bad form. Has not become a bad player but needs to get out his slump soon

Webster just seems to be a liability atm although dropping points wasn't really down to him as we failed to take the numerous chances created the other end.

Interesting take on here, I didn’t think Webster was terrible and in fact the two worst errors defensively, that nearly led to goals were committed by JPvH in the first half.

Webster didn’t have a chance on the goal.

However, after the OG, he did seem to lose confidence……
Phew, you’ve taken a risk saying that with some on here. Webbo has clearly lost confidence and has not flourished under RDZ, but he is the chosen scapegoat for this season, even though he hasn’t played regularly.
He will, I am sure, move on to pastures new. At his age, he should be at his peak as a CB and have a good few years in front of him, but he needs to be playing regularly and I am sure that will be at another club and not at the Albion.

As Mr Maybank pointed out the blonde Dutchman caused some big errors but it appears that these are invisible to some fans. Let's support our players whoever they are.
I feel you are being a little bit harsh on him old chap.

He’s a PL CB, perhaps at a club where a precise passing game from the back is not required.

Everton Football Club.

I can only recall one JPVH error. To me he took on the Dunk role well.
