Albion hero. One of the nicest blokes you could possibly meet.

I think he's one of the few Albion players who is universally liked by all Brighton fans, despite not being the most talented footballer.

Deserves every success he gets in the future.

I think he was more talented than his post-Celtic career suggested. He sacrificed himself for the club under McGhee and as a fan I won't forget that. Everyone talks about the Swindon goal understandably but his goals the following year kept us up and I'll remember his performances that year the most. The goals against Leicester and Watford getting us crucial points and the final day against Ipswich. Even under Adams part two he was better than most of the team.

I sort of likened his gutsy style to that of Reggie Goodwin. A real "up and at 'em" hero, Virgs is a great bloke and will never be forgotten by the fans. Shame there are few left within the club to understand what he did for us.
