News of another old boy came from a Coventry City supporting friend this week. "Romain Vincelot is a very good player - making a difference".

Nice to hear about. Fond memories of one of my Top 3 all time headed Albion goals (the other two are Gordon Smith at Wembley and Nobby Horton at Newcastle).

I've heard the same about Vincelot from Cov supporting friends.

Didn't he score a bullet header against Cov at the Amex when he played for us?

Agreed. Although to be fair l said that when he went to Bristol City too lol. It surprised me when it didn't work out for him at Ashton Gate, but he did very well on loan at Bury, and feel sure he won't let Swindon down either.

To be fair we don't know that it would have been a disaster.

After all, trying to turn around the fortunes of an Aston Villa side in the Premier League is a massive job. Forced to sell two of his best players in the summer too, in Benteke and Delph.
