Ha ha. I've never heard of Stanley Baker, so I misread the title as the late lamented Stanley Baxter. I smelled a rat as the comments mention Wales and I'm sure Baxter was Scottish. Thanks to Google, I find Baxter is not only not Welsh, but he is not late either. 98 years young. No idea who Stanley Baker is though.

Thanks to google you can prove Baxter is Welsh but can't use google to identify Baker! I'm sure if you look on IMDB you'll recognise quite a few of his films.

No, no, Google proved Baxter is not Welsh. See how easy it is to mix them up :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Loved Stanley Baxter. Because my old mum loved drag we were able to watch him. I can still remember a few of his sketches and jokes and you can claim that stuff as your own with the youngsters because it’s only us old uns who know him.

but surely one of the best screen actors this country (especially the Welsh) has ever been blessed with ?
That's right. Wales is renowned for not producing any actors ... apart from Richard Burton, Anthony Hopkins, Jonathan Pryce, Christian Bale, Roger Rees, Michael Sheen, Philip Madoc, Luke Evans, Matthew Rhys, Paul Rhys, Ray Milland, Freddie Jones, Rhys Ifans and Ioan Gruffudd, that is.

Stanley Baker was a fine actor.
Stanley Baxter was a comic genius
I knew straight away who both of them are and have never confused them at all. Surprised there are so many feeble-minded half-wits on here!
