In my own strange world
Just a heads up for you warbird lovers, a mate of mine is flying a Spitfire tomorrow afternoon, he is planning to fly along the coast eastwards from Goodwood at around 14:30, the plan is to cross the coast at Bognor, follow along past Worthing and Brighton before cutting inland to Lewes for a couple of victory rolls then heading back on the same route.
To track the Spitfire it's no. is SM520 or GCLXB, both are MK1V's so listen out for that glorious merlin growling through the Sussex skies!

Are there any airworthy Messerschmitts in the UK?

No, there are two airworthy types in the world that aren't the Spanish equivalent built under licence and I think both are registered in Germany. Ones a G-6 variant and the other is a G-14. Last couple of years has also seen a Fw190 take to the skies, but it's a replica built from numerous different frames.

And I was lucky enough to fly in MT818 from Biggin Hill 8 years ago for my 40th birthday. An indescribable experience and had the privilege of taking control for a few minutes.

I did similar myself for my birthday, Mrs. Wunt be Druv spent my hard earned money on a flight from Goodwood as a treat ...wonderful experience, especially taking the controls! We made it to Wunt be Druv heights and did a victory roll over my back garden, fantastic day, never to be forgotten!!

I still watch the go pro video of it on my birthday, it's just an epic experience 😁. The Victory and barrel rolls were insane, totally expected Christopher Plummer to be waiting for us at dispersal to give us a rollicking for it 😂 I only have a few things I've ever wanted to do in life and thought that would be the one I'd never get to tick off the list. Thankfully I had the money to do it and a husband who knew how much it meant.

I often work around the Shipbourne area and saw these three come over a few weeks back.

As someone else has said, there are a few of the Spanish variant in the UK, Buchon 109s. Ironically they have RR Merlin engines.
