If he hadn't decided before, this must be the night that Van Persie realises he has to move clubs if he wants to win the big titles.

1-0 Milan, Kevin-Prince formally of Protsmouth! Great goal.

Chested it down well running into space should have passed it across goal for Lord Buckley though.

They could easily draw each other before the final, so any other possible winner might only have to beat one of them. Not impossible at all in my opinion.

man utd thought that last season. and now that barca are 10 points adrift of the top of la liga all their eggs will firmly be in the champions league basket. it will take a huge amount of luck to beat them in a major final.

impossible? ok no. difficult? EXTREMELY.

A depressing week all round. English football seems to be going backwards technically and Brighton looked inept technically against lowly opposition

Arsenal did it... At least at home!

Talk sport & 5live before the game, both hacks & experts, universally talked up the new Arsenal (Blackburn, Sunderland & Henry), and reckoned tired old Milan in an old stadium, old and faded team, and Ibrahamovic always fails against Brits.

2 hours later ... quite the opposite with a classy destruction of a poor Arsenal team.

7 goals at home against 10 men Blackburn, does not signal a turn around. Truth revealed tonight.

Arsenal are a very average team now - without Van Persie I don't know if they'd be in the top half of the prem, certainly going to be outclassed by any decent European team.
It's a shame in some ways because money really is talking now (as opposed to good housekeeping and shrewd signings).

Arsenal have been reasonably competitive for a decade without Abramovich or Saudi oil money, but finally they are at the point where Wenger is no longer able to find a £4m player and turn him into a £40m player. They need a proper shake up and I think it will happen at the end of the season if they finish outside the top 4.
