I'm a chartered accountant, I earn 40% less than the salary of the average chartered accountant as a public sector employee. I work in education because I believe in the benefits it brings to young people and society as a whole, not because of the imaginary perks that you think you pay for.

Sorry president but the majority of public sector jobs are better paid than the equivalent private sector roles. It is only at the top end of the salary scale where the public sector loses out, so perhaps the people in these roles believe in what they are doing as you say. Overall the majority of public sector workers have a far easier life than the rest of us in equivalent position, therefore 'I'm out' when it comes to supporting the strikers.
