I don't think saying 'one less technical failure' and Hamilton would be champion is a valid argument. In the last few races Rosberg looked to be playing it safe, since he knew all he had to do was finish 2nd in most of the races. If he had to do something else, he may well have done it. He's shown balls of steel to not crumble under the pressure, and the overtake on Verstappen today was fantastic. There have been races this season where Hamilton has had no answer to Rosberg. Carrying on from last season Rosberg had won 7 races in a row at the start of the season. Rosberg had more fastest laps than Hamilton this season. Hamilton obviously wasn't helped by the reliability issues, but nor was he helped by some poor starts which were his own fault.

Rosberg has been playing defence the last few races, trying to not concede any goals. If Hamilton had scored, Rosberg would have gone on the attack.

Remember, it's not all been plane sailing for Rosberg this season either: collision in Austria with Hamilton which demoted him to 4th in the race and Hamilton won, gearbox failure, radio penalty

You have to applaud the fight and motivation Rosberg has shown this season after losing out to Hamilton in the previous two seasons.

Rosberg did what he had to do and is the worthy champion in my opinion. A much nicer guy too. The lack of respect being shown to him by large quarters of the media and fans is not nice to see. I know Hamilton is British, but it would be nice to see a bit of impartiality in the reporting, especially on the BBC website.

Rosberg was extremely gracious in defeat to Hamilton on the last day of the 2014 season when he had an engine problem. He knew he had lost, his team told him to retire, but he wanted to cross the line regardless and finish the race. Afterwards, he showed great sportsmanship towards Hamilton. Hamilton could learn a few things from Rosberg in this respect.

Hamilton, on the other hand, multiple times after the race, without being prompted, said he was only where he was (i.e. not first) simply because of reliability issues. What a total lack of class. Rosberg did not bite or comment, displaying the sort of trait which is why I was supporting Rosberg today and I'm glad he won. Today is a win for sportsmanship.

Interesting views, and yes he has handled the pressure even if it hasn't been that big as for most of the season he has had a very sizeable points advantage. Whenever it was whittled down Hamilton suffered another failure allowing Rosberg to stretch the lead again. Rosberg finished with the most points so he is a worthy champion but he is not half the driver Hamilton is IMO.

But in the words of my brother a gentleman in comparison to LH.

We know your brother doesn't even rate LH so excuse me not being too bothered by that

I'd call Rosberg more smug than gentleman too.

He has met and had drinks with both and I think that the general attitude of both would have had some baring on his view and rating of LH, he is probably slightly biased concerning his driving skills.

For someone who has no knowledge of F1 and never contributed before halfway through this season I find it remarkable that all of a sudden you find a brother who not only is an expert but has met with and had drinks with the two drivers battling for the title long enough to form an opinion on both of them.

I call bullshit.

Such a shame that the guy leading the race is banned by his team from dictating the race. Mercedes switching Hams mechanic team to Nico, more engine failures for Ham, all went against but him. Hopefully Wolf and Lowe wake up after gifting this one to Nico and let them race proper next year. Nico had his gift, now down to Ham to rip it back which I have no doubt he will do!

It is me that has no knowledge and little interest in F1 not my brother who flies around the world to watch it when time permits. I am only interested because LH is 'british'.

Why the inverted commas?

Hamilton seems to have some sort of complex that prevents him from getting the best out of a team.

He is a multiple world champion but he could have achieved so much more already if he could bring people with him, rather than alienate them. He struggled at McLaren to build a team around him and now at Mercedes history is repeating itself.

The very best drivers - Prost, Senna, Schumacher - dominated their teams and made them their own. You get a sense that Hamilton's arrogance prevents him from doing this. Is the whole side of his garage pulling for him? Not a chance, and that is down to him and him alone.

Bullshit.

Utter bullshit, I'm pretty sure you may have mentioned your brother before, especially as he knows the drivers.

You are living a Walter Mitty existence.

You believe what you want. I have never said he knows them I said he has met and drunk with them on a number of times through his job.

I'm with Nico. Hamition is a jumped up ****. Lots of negative comments on the BBC website regarding Ham. Can't be arsed to go into my personal views on him. Congratulations Nico.

It seems all top sportsmen are arrogant. I guess it's the nature of the beast.

If you show any weakness you will never reach the pinnacle.

Lewis will be even more determined next season. It would be nice if another team could join the mix and make it an exciting season.

Hamilton, Alonso, Vettel, Vestapen all better drivers than Rosburg. Lucky he was in a much superior car. Hamilton will smash him next year if they are allowed to face fairly.

Leeds - but not the dirty bit
He is British but choses not to live here I know it is as a tax exile but that takes the gloss off of it for me. I prefer a true Brit who lives and pays tax here, very rare I know with the wealthy.

o/t but where does our uncle Tony live ?

Sadly Hamilton considers himself to be so important..More important in fact than the Team that has got him where he is....His blatant disregard for orders given to him could have cost the team dearly....Not a man I would want in a team at all.
