The guy who writes some of their stuff was in the Kane Gang. One decent hit called 'The closest thing to heaven'.

I didn't know that. The Kane Gang were quite decent although their best single was Small Town Creed, AFAIK it never got near the charts (but thanks to typing this will be in my head all day).

How did someone go from that to the Lighthouse Family?

Lifted...

How would you not like this ?

A mate of mine was involved with a GT race team based in London, he asked if I'd like to go with him to collect the race car and ferry it around to different places in London for the day. Being a bit bored I stupidly agreed and climbed innocently into his car ( just realised this is beginning to sound like a readers letter to Gay Boys Monthly !) as soon as we set off he asked if I liked the Lighthouse Family. Before I could say "no" he put on their CD, and left it on for the rest of the f***ing day!!

I liked their first album when I first heard it but am now utterly sick and tired of their monotonous, unexperimental main stream dirge.

But that is not similar because I have NEVER liked the Lighthouse Family, they were utter WANK from the minute they were first heard.

Songs for Polar Bears is well good

Shit, beat me to it!

What is WRONG with Heather Smalls voice? she sounds like she has a heavy cold, or has got her fingers up her nose!

I never got it at all, and she won some award MOBO I think, for female vocal of the year! are these people deaf???

rant ends.

James Blunt, what a c*nt.

Anyone who saw Ed Byrne rip the shit out of him recently at the Dome would have enjoyed it, f***ing quality.
I had to laugh when he asked if there were any James Blunt fans in. Not one person, so it's obviously not socially acceptable to be a James Blunt fan, which is a marvellous thing in my book!
