Listened to a programme on R2 a couple of nights ago. Memories interspersed with the choir formed after it, Max Boyce doing most of the speaking. I was only a few months old at the time so don't remember it, but do recall regular reference to it during my childhood. So, so sad.
I've responded to some traumatic incidents over the years but nothing could ever even come close to the horrific event that visited the village of Aberfan that morning.
Having two young ones of my own, with their whole lives ahead of them and full of possibilities and potential, means that I find it hard to even watch coverage of this disaster.
I found last night's broadcast of Karl Jenkins' Cantata Memoria - For The Children very moving as were the readings of the comments by people who were involved in those dreadful days which preceded the concert.
