Although, to be fair, Sevilla are MUCH better than us. I really do anticipate a repeat of Villareal, when we rarely saw the ball.

TBH it wasn't the team i was referring too....but yes i do anticipate a rather more difficult match than our opening fixture ..personally i see it as an opportunity to see a rather good La Liga side...thats if its mainly first team

Not bothered about the result in the slightest, but it does underline the need for attacking additions. Only one winger and without Baldock, once Hemed went off we had shit strikers on the pitch.

Please, just please, shut the fxxk up for a while will you?

I have Ernest on my ignore list and can't see the comment he made, but i can guess it's the usual ultra negative tripe with one or more words in capitals. (virtually all his posts are the same so i don't even have to be able to read them to know what is posted)

I suggest you add him to your ignore list too.

It was obvious last March we needed much better creative players and forwards and 5 months later nothing has been done
It was obvious way before March-at least it was obvious to most supporters. They have had 7 or 8 months to put a plan together to bring in what was/is needed. After last years 'Judge us at the end of the transfer window' debacle I'm hoping they learned from it.

Pre-season or not it must be a concern for the powers that be that goals are still not coming (unless you include lower league teams).

We were WARNED about Hughton, he should have been SACKED at the end of last season. He is no IMPROVEMENT on SEMMI and the STATS never LIE.
You wanted an English manager and you got one.

Hopefully our summer recruitment is not over, IMO we need another striker, winger and more cover in defence.
As it stands we would be very, very lucky at best to finish mid table but more likely somewhere like 18th.
I will reserve judgment though till our recruitment is completed.

Man United beat Barcelona last night 3-1.
I doubt that Barcelona are writing their season off on the strength of that result.

Although of course Arsenal will be winning the Premiership because they beat some nobodies and have won two trophies already.
Add them to the FA Cup and a possible Charity Shield and Wenger has his quadruple he has been spouting on about for years.???

Friendlies generally mean little.......but winning is ALWAYS better than losing.

Did Barcelona lose to Man Utd 19 times last season leading them to be threatened with relegation? Because we failed to score 19 times last season - the major reason we were looking over our shoulder for so much of the season, and this is the third pre-season match in which we've failed to score (despite being quite dominant, apparently).

Friendlies do mean little. Someone else mentioned 'knee jerk reactions' as if this is some reactionary response to one match.

But the truth is that most of the people who aren't thrilled right now aren't basing their fear/negativity on one friendly match. It's not "just one match", not "just a friendly". It's not a result being taken in isolation.

It is (or is perceived as) a continuation of the troubles of last season, troubles that there were hopes/expectations of the club addressing.
