Article and few Twitter feeds suggesting we have made enquiries

Abel Ferreira has been polled by Brighton & Hove Albion in recent hours. In a first approach made by the English, the Portuguese coach expressed the desire to stay at Palmeiras and lift the title of the Brazilian Championship.

Linked to Verdão until December 2024, Abel has been well evaluated for months behind the scenes at the English club, which last week lost Graham Potter to Chelsea.

Interesting. Not Gallardo levels success but two Libertadores in two seasons is mighty impressive by anyone's standards.

Don't watch too much Brazilian football but his Braga was excellent to watch and his win record is great.

Probably impossible to get until their league season ends in two months but after that I think he'd be willing to come. Would TB dare to go with Crofts for two months? October is looking pretty scary.

Could do a job.

Was excellent in Ugly Betty and Superstore.

Same situation potentially with Gallardo and Knutsen. It’s incredibly tricky, especially as it’s not just waiting for one person. It’s the manager and their back room staff.

I suspect TB and PB are thinking long and hard over this situation. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are toying with the idea of leaving Crofts/Lallana/Ruth in charge, if they can guarantee they get the man they want in X amount of games

Hang on, we're the good guys here. Surely after all the fuss over the last week we wouldn't poach another club's manager and staff? Where's the respect?! :glare:

We’re in the top six currently, should we act like a Big Six club would? It might help us stay there.

On a personal note I hope we get him as my Palmeiras supporting son in law is arrogantly dismissive about me supporting a small team like Brighton. The fact that it's my team from my city whilst he lives over 2500 km away and isn't from SP doesn't come into it for him. It would be a good kick in the balls.
However I'm not sure he's a good fit as he's very much like Tuchel on the sidelines and is frequently dismissed.

2.5km isn't very far. About a mile?
