After sitting on the bench for weeks, you expect them to come in and do a great job? Unlikely. They come on and miss a sitter, imagine the shite that will be thrown their way on here let alone Twitter etc (please see Connelly and Maupay as very good examples of the type of 'feedback' they will get).
Not throwing them in at the deep end is the most sensible way to develop a young player. Sure, I would love us to sign a top striker who will guarantee us goals, but we don't do that as we cannot afford it.

The only idiocy I would question in Tony Bloom is spunking all his money on the club, only for someone who buys a season ticket and eats a few pies to assume they know better.
Most fans think they know better to be fair. It's the name of the game. And if you're happy with how things have gone to date in this transfer window, you're undoubtedly in a minority. I stand by my view that it is complete idiocy to loan out a £7M player to a Championship club who has scored goals in the Europa League, when we are so desperately short of firepower ourselves

Why would they be sitting on the bench? Surely they'd be challenging for a first team spot? And surely they're of more use to us adding competition for places than on loan elsewhere?
It's a bonkers bit of business any way you cut it, unless there is indeed a much better striker to be confirmed by the close of business tonight. If that's what you're suggesting, then it makes sense.

Yep. I think truth is Potter didn't feel confident enough with Zeqiri to start him upfront even when Welbeck was injured.
Can't - pretty sure not allowed to play for three teams in the same season.

If you compare the squad to last season, we are DEFINITELY stronger. The only first team regular to leave was Ben White. We have bought a couple of very talented individuals in Cucurella and Mwepu, and strengthened the back-up keeper options (Scherpen). March is back. Lamptey is close to full fitness. The likes of Moder and Mac Alister have more experience and are making an impression. There are a few exciting youngsters on the fringes (Caicedo, Richards, Roberts).
Plus, the club is investing heavily in the future by using loan-outs to give decent prospects the chance to gain experience at a reasonably high level (Championship or Bundesliga)....just like we did with Ben White.
If anyone expected us to spend £35m on a striker, they haven't been paying attention!!

I think the truth is you forgot/didn't realise how often he played for us last season and edited your post to try and salvage the point you were trying to make.

To be fair, when you read the rationale for loaning him it makes complete sense. It's frustrating for us first team- wise but for the player and his development/settling into English football, it's an excellent move.

How many minutes did he play for us last season as a centre forward ?
its a bit of a stretch to imply we relied on him even as an emergency / injury back up.

This argument isn't going to work the way you think it will. He played approximately 15/20 minutes up front, I'd guess.
How many did Connolly/Maupay combined play?
