Abba or The Beatles ?

I like gay, singalong music. Abba are pretty damn good at that. The Beatles are ok, and I really like a couple of their tunes but overall I find them a bit boring, a bit samey, and their songs are so short!

A bit samey! You need to spend time listening to their albums. I don't think there as ever been a band that experimented more. Try Revolver for starters.

The only albums I have are the Number 1s album and the Sgt Pepper one. I'm not a big fan, but I'm willing to believe there's a lot more to them than that!

Try The White Album or Revolver. Mesmerising. That siad, someone with your more poppy taste might prefer Help or Rubber Soul (my personal favourite)

How can you describe the Beatles as samey? Does "A Day in the Life" sound like "She Loves You"?

"She Loves You" has lasted 45 years in my brain, which doesn't seem all that short to me.

The thing about the Beatles is how quickly they went from making simple boy band pop like She Loves You to complex tunes like A Day in the Life.
Abba made the best pop records of their time, some of which were are technically brilliant.

Abba v The Beatles lmao, Abba were indeed a great 'POP' band, but The Beatles were in a completely different league as far as i am concerned, so no comparison really.
