He was average, but then so were the rest of our team. We only won because Spurs were so poor.

At least that's what the pundits will say.

Well, some of them. Murphy and Pulis added that Brighton played well. 10 of today's starting XI started in the rather less stunning performance at Stamford Bridge. Mooy was dreadful.

Let's be honest: it takes two to tango. If one team fails to turn up, then the other appears to be performing well. Applies to any sport.

Miiy was outstanding today and along with the performances of Gross, Alzate and Stephens makes a very interesting time for Potter to work out how he can accommodate Propper and Trossard.

It does, but crap and lazy pundits have a habit of giving the praise/criticism to the big club, as if the other club weren't in the tango.

I know with two goals on his first full PL start Connolly was the easy choice for MOTM (great to see his confidence running at defenders especially) but I thought Mooy deserved it for his absolutely class performance today. He made space from nowhere, had fantastic close control, showed a real intelligence in his play and dominated his area. In a team of excellent performances his was the one I really, really loved.

Lovely article in the Guardian, oozing with praise at Maupay, Alzate, Mooy & co, as well as our play in general.

And Connolly here. They even mention the sore-losers barge from Dire.

Apart from this bit

It seems to matter less now that it unfolded as the World Cup winner made yet another dreadful error, as costly as the one that had gifted Southampton a goal the previous week, this time misjudging a cross and forced to drop it before he carried it over his own line

Maupay might have a slight correction to make there!!

What point are you making? Seems an entirely accurate description to me.

Well quite, and if one team plays brilliantly, the other appears to be performing badly. Chelsea were quite superb last week against us

I thought the team were great, the midfield fantastic and Mooy the icing on the cake. MOM and undroppable on that performance.

Hard to pick between Mooy and a 19 year old year scoring a brace on his first PL start (also a relentless nightmare for the Belgium CB pairing).

It would be madness to drop Mooy. Finally we have an ACM/midfield general who creates for 90 minutes, with decent pace.

Huddersfield will be rubbing their hands with glee

We are more concerned with keeping this mini run together and getting out of the relegation places.
