He was superb the other night, had started superbly against Villa and was brilliant away at Newcastle - so not a one off, and he's clearly a player with a superb footballing 'brain' as they say.

Watching some clips of our attacking play, it's interesting to note DS signalling players to retain the ball by passing backwards, yet being ignored by those around him who were seemingly intent on going for it. That's not a criticism of DS by the way, more a notable hangover from the CH years (perhaps?) - where an entrenched caution first (too much respect for former top six side), is a tough habit to erode. Luckily I think we are breaking those habits, and as such we're able to retain the ball in the opposition half more than we've ever been able to at this level. Ultimately AM is a huge part of that - as he's a superb passer of the ball.

Here's hoping we see a committed and brave performance against Wolves, a team we could (if we perform) beat.

Rock on.

Potential player of the season alongside Dunk, Burn and Tross?

It's interesting to think that under Potter in an increasingly attacking side 2 of your nominations are defenders and the other 2 have played in only half our matches. I'm not criticising as my choices would be similar but several players around a 7 or 8 but no stand out individuals yet for player of the season

Earlier in the season Ryan watched just about every shot against him nestle in the net. Recently I suggest he has kept us in games, so is moving into a contender role too

Was just about to post something similar. Even the stats are bearing this out now - he’s got one of the better shot/save ratios in the division, and the highest no of saves in ‘the other 14’

Earlier in the season Ryan watched just about every shot against him nestle in the far corner of the net. Recently I suggest he has kept us in games, so is moving into a contender role too

I think that's a necessary edit - apologies for interfering.

I agree, he was also culpable on a few where he got a ‘weak hand’ to the ball.

Absolutely on fire at the moment.....

Blimey, IMO only Dunk is close then Stephens for me and Ryan

Trossard has had a couple of great games but needs to be more consistent.

Burn was good at the start, but has started to struggle at times (IMO).

I think Ryan is having as good a season as anyone and is the player we'd miss the most if he got injured.
