Is that just last season? Because we have to be fair as Mooy hasn’t been with us as long.

Gross always takes the free kicks which may skew the results.

The impression I always had was that Mooy has a goal threat in him. Never get that impression from Gross. But good stats, interesting to see.

Yes, those are last season's stats, mostly because that's when both of them were playing for us. I imagine Gross's Ingoldstat assist statistics are comparatively insane as that's why we bought him

Lallana and Alzate will be regular picks this year. I rated Mooy very highly when he was at Huddersfield and when he was on loan with us initially, he was superb. Not the same player once signed permanently. This move makes complete sense for all concerned and i wish him well.

Sure the club know what their doing though.

He had the same clause in his contract (sale to Chinese Club) at Huddesfield and was simply waiting for the day to come. We knew that when they signed him and wouldn't have got him without that clause.

Brighton was clearly a gap year for Mooy. but we got him for peanuts (compared to other transfer fees) and seemingly turned round a small profit.

I'd suggest Brighton knew exactly what there were doing with Mooy who clearly does things a bit differently.

Disappointed. Feels he’s much better than Gross, Mccallister, AJ who he was vying with and is more productive than Trossard. Do recognise that his finish to the season wasn’t as strong as the early half but feel he’s better than much of what we’ve got. Think him and Lallana’s intelligence coupled with some pace would have been great. Sure the club know what their doing though.

Agreed - also some very big contributions forgotten in the begrudgery, creating the winner against Norwich, imagine what the end of the season might have been without that.

It is a setback but hopefully other business will make up for it. I imagine the move will be personally very lucrative for him, which is why we couldn’t stand in his way

Certainly didn't see that coming.
Certainly won't lose any sleep now it's done.
Good luck Aaron thanks for Arsenal away.

I hope it all goes well.

I did . Were told at least 2 years ago he wouldn't be an upgrade on what was already at the Club.

With the same release clause in his contract as he had at Hudds, we signed him on the basis he would leave when a bid came in from a Chinese club. Nothing to do with how much money he will earn, Brighton had no option but knew that.

Obviously had an aspiration to play and live in China for a long time. Quite rare to see a player plan their short career out like that so seamlessly. I've got a lot of admiration for him because he has done it quietly without upsetting any club he has played for.

Hopefully he has a good immune system

How to start a rumour.... knock up a fake tweet or instagram post and then post something saying ''did anybody else just see that?!'' about something that is now conveniently deleted. Its just some bored kid. There's no blue tick on the post to show its from an official account.

Oh dear

The dull part of the south coast
Was great during the 1st half of the season and then tailed off after he joined permanently.

Would have been a fringe player this year, Molumby to take his place in the squad?

It makes you think who else is likely to depart who have been considered first team fixtures - Duffy, Murray, March, Propper, Gross?

Is Lallana not an identikit replacement?

I do think this is a move that suits all parties.

The best bit about it is it removes another obstacle for Alzate to play centre/attacking midfield. I think this is going to be a massive season for Alzate after his breakthrough last season and now recovery from injury.

I’ve very rarely been so excited watching a player break into our side. He has got so much ability and confidence it’s frightening and I fully expect him to be in the running for our player of the season.

How many goals did Gross look like scoring though

Over the 3 seasons he’s been with us, excluding our strikers (and perhaps Trossard last season) I’d say he has been our next player most likely to score. 12 goals and 15 assists plus countless ‘big chances’ created suggests he has been one of our most dangerous players.

He’s not quick, if he was he’d be in a champions league side.

He was a good addition last season, got his head down, seemed a popular member of the group, trusted and relied on by the manager. My lasting memory will be his complete dominant performance at home to Spurs. Potter got his tactics spot on but they only worked because the likes of Mooy had a great game. I hope he enjoyed his time with us, and hope he does well in the next step of his career.
