It may or may not be true. I don't need reasons why it may be true before I know it is true in order to decide whether it is or isn't true, without any actual evidence. It's on stuff like this, me a scientist and you a nut case (a lovely nut case, but a nut case nonetheless) go our separate ways.
If it were something I could do something about then fair enough. Maybe. But if send him some flowers with a note begging him to not leave, kisses on the bottom, I doubt it would have much traction, even if it were all true. Which it may or may not be.
And if it is you don't win a prize.
And....hate to say this but it's not as if it's someone like Ben White who's being discussed, in the imminent departure context, here, is it.

BB: I think confidence is one. Feeling and uncertainty about data is another one. Whenever you have a lot of options and you find yourself easily making a choice, that’s a big one. Whenever you’re halfway through a project or ninety percent through a project and things are just not working out but you’re continuing, that’s a good one.
These are all the things we do every day, and we all come up with our tricks to work through it. But one of the most interesting ones to me is that we all see ourselves as critical thinkers, but whenever there’s evidence that we aren’t a critical thinker, that’s cognitive dissonance that for the most part goes all the way down to our identity. But none of us are that great at it. It’s still hard to admit that we’re not good at it.

well quite. Many don't see it that way though, suggestions of playing gross in the middle of the park not too long ago
I said a while back that i wouldn't be surprised if both gross and mooy left before stephens. I was shot down as being head mental.
