Anyone know why he hasn't appeared in training photos? Did he and Molumby go back to Ireland and are isolating?!

Attitude. He could play a bit and played many games for Wales. Went from Wrexham to Manchester United and came to us via Everton I think. Big time Charlie who displayed an attitude with the way he played, the crowd, the press that he was too good for us. He wasn't. A bit like Locadia, but much, much worse.

My memory is of him going back to Wales and missing training and possibly matches too. He was an absolute **** for us

I do feel some are being a bit harsh on Aaron what can he do if he has an ex/on off girlfriend on a reality show and seemingly stories leaking to the press that he may / may not still be seeing her.

I seen no difference between what Bissouma puts on social media and Connolly (Except Biss is way more blingy / show offy) but that is modern society I am afraid

Well to be fair as someone who lives in the heart of Brighton I’ve heard stories about Connolly too the past few years. Just typical young man with money stuff.

Granted Swan is correct it’s all gossip. However Commander is equally correct that we don’t hear anything like these stories regarding any of our other prominent young players, Sanchez, Maup, Alzate, Lamptey, White (before he’s left). What we do know is that Connolly missed game time because of various issues or another.

Fortunately it’s not our job to figure out the truth. But I’m sure the club will be on top of all these things and make judgements accordingly.

And apart from the fact Biss doesn't get pissed out on the town and is one of the best footballers in the country.

I think he is allowed to wear whatever clothes he likes. It is very unfortunate that he is romantically involved (on and off) with a girl who is making headlines due to being on that soft porn show Love Island, mainly because that can't be helping him psychologically right now.

I don't object to him for either of these things (I feel sorry for him with the relationship mess he is in), on the other hand the rumour mill is pretty strong that he might be a bit of an arrogant tit which is never good.

If he was scoring goals for fun then I would just tut and shake my head at his "antics", but since he isn't I feel free to disapprove and to hope that he sorts himself out, in the strongest possible terms.

Also I am not yet in my fifties, nor properly balding yet so perhaps my opinion is permitted? :moo:

Last season was massively frustrating when - apart from a few stand-out results - it just felt like our points total didn't wholly reflect the quality and fluidity of our play. For me, Connolly's off-field choices became a bit of a lightening rod for my frustrations which I accept is more my problem than his.

But I generally like to start a new season with a clean slate for everybody with a squad number so I'm going to draw a line under everything that did or didn't happen last year and hope that Aaron has a successful season with us.

And absolutely this.

Once the season starts, if Aaron’s in the squad, those that matter at the club believe in and are backing him and that’s enough for me.

No one would be more delighted than me to see AC be a success for us.

He can do absolutely anything he likes off the field as far as l'm concerned, (short of serial murder anyway), as long as he bags us fifteen goals next season . . . well actually just ten would do.

OK so it is getting pissed in public / around town that is the problem and not the social media presence / shit clothes etc? Which is fair enough but I guess the club will know whats what and how to deal with that

How do you know. I bet I would be.

True. Although the flip side is that you would've been a lot more likely to be involved in an RTA with Biss (before he got banned again and sold his motor anyway).

Good story. Just last week I met someone who had been to Brighton and who told me that Lewis Dunk had thrown kittens into the ocean. Must be the truth and I'll forever judge him harshly for it despite not knowing him or even having met him. Reasonable.

Pure evil. Dunk obviously trying to cover his tracks with this tweet from last year.
Poor Bertie sleeps with the fishes.

Any Brighton including Connelly can do what they like as long as they produce goods on field. Apart from looking for ball over the top.cutting in from the left and falling over he contributes very little.

Great post Bry

He is a young lad. Everything he does is being scrutinised, yes he has been a bit of a pratt. But surely all you blokes should know better than putting the boot in. lots of us have children or young adults ourselves, after all.
As for pouty lip girls, that's what youngsters do nowadays its fashion and will move on to something else.
So I'm for giving him a last chance. If he messes up then i will reluctantly agree but will not get any pleasure out of abusing a young lad, and a Brighton player.
