The problem fans have with Connally is that they don’t know if he’s generally shit or a lack of application makes him shit.

The main problem that they have is that his name is very difficult for some of them to spell ..................

Brighton factually.....
Some 200 minutes in Boro and there's already multiple pages on how he isnt good enough for them, how the other loan players are better and bla bla the usual stuff. Meanwhile Zeqiri has nine straight goalless games in Germany and struggling to get in to the side - not a word, and there is plenty of other examples of players not really excelling on loan deals, and no one gives a shit. But once it comes to Aaron everyone and their mothers cant wait for the opportunity to take another spit at him.

Who !!! Wants to spit at him…

Explain!

I don’t and it seems no one else does on here, explain or point out who….
Your grabbing at straws

Don’t see that at all, just observations.
No one’s happy young Aaron has not hit the ground running, the best thing for all concerned is if he had.
He’s been sent on loan to get game time, and boost his confidence, things are not going to plan and the Middlesbrough natives aren’t impressed, maybe just maybe he’s not good enough, maybe he’s a step below the championship. Who knows, but that’s how it’s looking right now, no one’s happy about that, we can’t keep saying he will come good tomorrow, when tomorrow never comes.

Oh I don't agree with you at all. They aren't just observations. I think an awful lot of of people on here are happy that young Aaron has not hit the road running at Boro and have had fingers poised over their keyboards ready to pour more spite in his direction at the earliest opportunity.

I really struggle to understand the mentality of fans who can’t wait to jump on their keyboards and slag our own players off, whatever the situation. There is nothing positive for the club in Connolly being a failure at any level. The better we get, the worse it gets.

and they conveniently forget he was part of the team who tore spurs apart and scored 2 goals...

personally think he just needs someone to explain to him its all down hill from here unless he turns it around and that means the money and the girls will go as well.

I hope he succeeds though its not looking great that boro fans are now having a dig....

I don’t see any evidence anyones forgotten his Spurs brace? Far from. It was a fantastic day! It’s just it was some time ago now and you can’t dine out on one match for rest of your life unless you’re Geoff Hurst (or Sir Bryan Wade). All the evidence is sadly he’s not good enough for PL and maybe Champ too? More flop than fly at the top of the game, it’s brutal as you know.

You have to wonder how much of Middlesbrough fans' instant identification of him as shit is in some way due to some of them basing their player research on NSC.

Let’s face it the kid is now looking like he’s not even championship level. Worst thing that ever happened to him was that Spurs game and the shotgun contract that followed.
Indeed.

He changed into a Billy Big Bollocks waster after the big contract was awarded.

I was hoping Middlesbrough would set him straight but it hasn't been a great start to the loan. Nothing yet to suggest he'll make it with us.

yeah lots of negatives on 'Brighon and Hove Albion Away Days' FB page. I added something a bit more positive as its in our (the clubs & fans) interest that he actually does turn into a £15m + striker.

I know people hark back to that Spurs game but, to be fair to Connolly, I was at the Swansea League Cup game and he was pretty decent in that, scoring our two goals and giving their defence a fairly torrid time. That certainly suggested he should be good enough in most Championship games. Maybe Swansman 's point about his support in the Boro midfield was more accurate than I originally gave credit for?

Maybe you can blame support from the midfield, Maybe you can blame not playing the ball over the top, Maybe you can blame the defence simply having a stellar game, or Maybe he’s just not good enough….

Maybe

Probably right but I can’t help feel his problem isn’t aptitude but attitude. That’s the signal he sends whether it’s right or wrong, hence frustration all round. And it’s a quick descent if the former isn’t sorted, hence predictions he’ll be playing in League of Ireland quicker than you can say Battle of Longford.

Just had a look at that page. I'm no Connolly fan, but some of the disgusting comments on there say more about the posters than him. I'll put in something a bit more positive, too.

Maybe failing at Middlesbrough is what he needs. Help him realise he isn't prime Henry and actually help him improve as a person and a footballer

I watched him the other night and the one thing I would say is that he needs to relearn how to win fouls. It’s a big part of his game that’s letting him down - refs can see through his attempts. It was the same when he was here.
