Ah. I thought it was a loan. Fair enough. I guess it’s early days if he’s signed a permanent deal. He’s not on loan

I suspect that, if true, it won't stay that way for long. He's coming into his last 2 years, so fully expect a renewal/extension soonThat is crazy when you think JPVH is on 30k a week
He must have a knock, it’s the only reason I can think they wouldn’t throw him on chasing an equaliser. Was he cup tied at the weekend? Because he wasn’t in the squad for that one
4 appearances in 14 games suggests it isn’t working out for him.
He’s over half way through the loan and had only got onto the pitch 4 times I think. I’m pretty confident this latest loan will turn out to be a waste of time
Agree. He should try hooking up with Calde at the Gasheads place.I still maintain, if he wants to have a career, finding a club lower down the pyramid where he can settle for a long time, play and score regularly and maybe become a fans favourite will be better. This won’t make his agent money though, so pointless temporary loans it is.
Apparently he has had an injury so hasn't been available for a couple of games. I've seen him play a couple of times for them and the supporters seem to like him.Yes he's cup tied he played for Sunderland in the third round.
He isn't on loan, he joined Millwall permanently mid way through the window. While he isn't pulling up any trees he's been fairly well involved really and seems to be trying to adapt to a new position. He's only been there for 10 games, he's played in 7 of them, 4 as a starter and 3 as a sub. He's already played twice as many mins as he did for Sunderland in the first half of the season.
Is he still though, I wonder? Obviously he would have retained his salary level whilst on loan, but things have changed since then. He was unemployyed for a few months in the summer (£0 per week) before Sunderland threw him a lifeline - and then downloaded him to 'Walll after a not very successful half season. It’s pretty ludicrous that he’s reportedly paid £20k per week. Much of that down to the halo-effect of his premier league experience.
My Wall STH mate has been impressed so far.Apparently he has had an injury so hasn't been available for a couple of games. I've seen him play a couple of times for them and the supporters seem to like him.
Hard to say, but estimates vary with 20k at the bottom range. Capology has it at the bottom range and according to analytics.co 96.7% of Capology's published Premier League salaries were verified. Is he still though, I wonder? Each time a new wage deal would have to be negotiated, and as he's dropped down the levels, he ain't going to be offered any more than the club wants to pay him - he, and his agent (greedy or not) aren't in the driving seat these days.
Fair enough. It was a question worth asking though, I think. It's still incredible though, that someone who is unemployed, earning nothing, because his previous employers didn't want him any more, thinks they have any leverage in negotiations.Hard to say, but estimates vary with 20k at the bottom range. So, let's say that they are even 25% out, that's still a huge whack for a vastly overrated player and is sadly indicative of how much the football marketplace is forcing clubs to waste on salaries and how much we as fans are paying for that through inflated ticket prices, merchandise costs, food and drink, and through a variety of TV platforms.
There is no chance Millwall are paying him £20k a week. It’s pretty ludicrous that he’s reportedly paid £20k per week. Much of that down to the halo-effect of his premier league experience.
You’re assuming he only had one option…Fair enough. It was a question worth asking though, I think. It's still incredible though, that someone who is unemployed, earning nothing, because his previous employers didn't want him any more, thinks they have any leverage in negotiations.
Only in football, I guess.![]()
He would be the highest paid Millwall player by some distance the highest paid player is on £11k a week from what I can make out. As you say no chance he’s on £20k a week. There is no chance Millwall are paying him £20k a week
There wasn’t a queue in the summer. I doubt his spell at Sunderland changed this. You’re assuming he only had one option…
His CV is 19 goals in 8 years. He's a goal scorer
His CV is also 14 goals in the Championship from game time equal to 37 full games. In the right conditions he is a very useful Championship striker. His CV is 19 goals in 8 years.
Coming on as a sub, against tired players and only needing to focus for 20 mins isn’t a good advert imho. If you want a player that can deliver for a limited time then Arron’s your man I guess. I would want a bit more from my strikers. His CV is also 14 goals in the Championship from game time equal to 37 full games. In the right conditions he is a very useful Championship striker.
