It needed it. Eastbound between Kwik Fit and the Fairway was a huge one that nearly wrecked my near side wheels.
This pot hole just keeps getting patched, as you know this section of the road is really bad. I’m not sure if there is any plans for night closures to resurface this part.

An hour to drive into Brighton at 7.00am and an hour and a half to get home to Peacehaven this evening. Apparently they are doing water repairs at Rottingdean and were meant to be using the temporary traffic lights from 8pm until 5am, to stop any major traffic problems. Then one of the daft twunts went and damaged a gas main last night and the lights have stayed in place since.
I don’t know why we’re surprised: this is surely another strand of Southern Water’s strategy to p1ss off its customers. Not content with putting us off using the rivers, the sea, the beaches and (coming soon) watering the roses, they sabotage the main coastal road. Zelensky could surely make good use of their destructive capabilities. And while I’m in the mood……today yet another set of works started on the Falmer Road on outskirts of Rottingdean. Yet again they’re digging a hole only in the grass verge but the road is closed on one side simply so they can park their ‘kin van. I could go on but it would be bad for my blood pressure.

Live in Saltdean, work in Peacehaven. Wife works at the RSCH, and the lad goes to college at BACA.

We're thinking of getting in emergency rations and hunkering down for a week & working online.

Or buying a 4x4 and going over the Downs to get anywhere.
Any idea how much longer than normal the buses are taking? There are bus lanes for parts of the route, which must help. I'm interested as I have to get to Seaford early on Saturday, and this might still be going on.

I left 80 minutes to get from Saltdean to North Street and I got there in 45. Not much fun, but doable. Going the otherway towards Seaford is no bother atm.

Roadworks - Presently looking at about 50-60 mins Marina to Rottingdean
I remember Peacehaven to Brighton London Rd taking up to an hour in the morning in term time.
But before I retired, my commute of 12k here in Malta was 45 minutes by car, 20 mins on scooter or an hour and a half by bus. Again in term time.
My sympathy for all who have to endure this type of journey.

It’s possible that I will need to drop a friend from North St in Brighton over to Peacehaven and then back to Hove around 10.00PM this evening. Are these queues still likely around that time?

The temporary lights in Rottingdean have gone so that should help.
