I suspect that Brighton police won’t go to the lengths that Bowness police did - they went round and inspected all B&Bs to track down people looking to spend the bank holiday on the Lakes. Good on ‘em.

Such a shame we don't have the old numberplates. CD from Brighton of course, plus all the Sussex PNs and PMs, PXs, UFs (also Brighton I think) and the rest - you knew where every car came from, often down to the town (my first proper motorbike and my dad's Hillman Minx were DY and therefore Hastings). Now we just have GP to GY to indicate the Brighton area, but it's not very specific.
