That was a great read and refreshing to think that most posters seemed informed and well-educated compared to reading palace's forum for example. No stupid insults flying around nor any slurs against gay people, which is good.

What does this mean, particularly in reference to us being owed £18 million?

'Indeed-Bloom has put £222m of his own money in-help fund the ground and trading losses. The loans are unsecured and interest free. Brighton also owed £18m in transfer fees-in fairness players in books at £60m value

Contrast that with us. Players valued at £123m but £82m (net of money due in) owed in transfer fees and £70m owed to third party secured creditors and £25m to a Pozzo entity-i make that £177m of debt of which the Pozzos have injected (lent) £25m.'

Some great gallows-humour posts on that thread, very funny. TSB would fit in well. Seem like a decent bunch in the main too.

I think it’s saying we owe £18m in transfer fees. My guess this is deals we’ve struck where we are paying the transfer in instalments.

Indeed - see the "Transfers payable" falling due within one year, and after more than one year, from the 2017-18 accounts (although the figure is actually £19m):-

That was like reading a polite version of NSC!
As for that blokes' daughter who has never seen a loss or a goal conceded. It's about time she was exposed to the real world of supporting your home team and conceding a ship load of goals, where it isn't all sugar and spice and ponies and rainbows(unless she was in Brighton weekend just gone)

The recruitment team wasted no time in getting to work, bringing in solid Championship defender Craig Dawson... and that's it, job done for the best scouting network in world football

Blimey. And all that bedwetting on here right up to Maupay. Imagine us just signing Dawson for £6m and that's all.

Though they had a better squad than us last season with their 11th place finish.

"On to our opponents, the Seasiders of Brighton. Would've been confident of victory had they stuck with the anti-football Chris Hughton, a man whose reputation with the pundit class far exceeds his achievements."
"No idea how they're likely to line up either in formation or personnel, but at least they will make an attempt to do something other than park the bus like Hughton."

Ouch.

Different thread but...
'Due to overrunning work on the Vicarage Road pitch and parts of the stadium, there is a strong chance that we're going to request that our first game of the season v Brighton is switched to the Amex '

I for one had not heard this anywhere, so I guess the pitch and stadium work got sorted

Wouldn't have been an option anyway, due to Pride.

Got the train to Falmer with some Watford fans last time they visited. A good natured, self depreciating bunch who seemed to prefer the Championship and absolutely loathed Knockaert

I think that anger stems from the play off game they played against Leicester a few years ago when Knocky dived to win a penalty in the last minute, only to then miss it and Watford score immediately down the end.

And the fact that he did love a dive.

Funny read from the Watford lad. Those comments about Hughton will hurt some on here.
