Anyone care to advise me what odds you could get on Pompey, Southampton, ourselves and Bournemouth all getting relegated this season?

A depressing thought (well, only us obviously, frankly I'd laugh my socks off at the other three all falling through the trapdoor) but hey, we might as well try and make some money out of the carnage.

I'm thinking of having a little flutter on Pompey myself.

After their January transfer window fire sale, they could drop like a stone.

I've been saying this for a few weeks.

I can still remember Tony Adams as Wycombe manager, standing on the touchline at Withdean as his team got battered 4-0 with ten men. I don't think I've ever seen a manager look so completely clueless or bewildered (and that includes any number of ours). He had no idea what to do next, and more importantly, didn't seem to be able to relate to his players whatsoever.

I see the same thing now when he's on TV, a Glenn Hoddle-a-like who's so caught up in technical-bullshit, David Brent-style jargon and his own personal triumphs/disasters, he cannot manage people to save his life.

Reckon the January window is going to be rather painful for Pompey...here's hoping anyway

Reported to be 95 million in debt, I was shocked when I read that. That's the sort of debt Chelsea had hanging over them until the Russians sailed in to save them.

Imagine dropping into the Championhip with that little overdraft to worry about.

Funniest is thing is old 'arry jumping ship whiter than white at just the right time.

There really are no flies on him, are there, the crafty old sod. He knew exactly what he was doing. For once, I actually find myself liking the saggy-faced shyster, just for shafting Pompey.

Ironically Edna, we beat them 4-0 on Boxing day 2003..

I remember earlier today before seeing our "performance" remembering that game 5 years ago and how clueless he'd been, someone behind me shouted "That's enough to put you back on the booze Tony!". Five years later and his first boxing day fixture since, another 4 goals to the bad..

Still, I'm sure there will be a place for him in the incoherent chair for soccer saturday alongside Merson for Sky..

Not sure on the actual odds but...

Bournemouth 7 points off safety. If it weren't for the points deduction then no problem, but looks like their very likely gone. That's such a shame for their supporters. Nice ground and buzzy town-both good for investors- so they'll probably come back quite soon.

Portsmouth are imploding. A leveraged buy-out gone very badly wrong. Quite possibly going into administration sometime in 2009. A good bet for relegation and after that the most 'uncertain' future of any of the 92 clubs.

Southampton 50/50. Looks like three from four to go down there. They have a fair chance of going into administration too-which would kill them off this season. Longer-term they should be a good bet to be taken over when the economy improves. Unlike Portsmouth the infrastructure is in place.

We're best-placed to stay up. But 'something' needs to change quite quickly now. I've always felt with Falmer we could be a good Championship club with spells in the 'Prem'.

So look to the future. In five years we'll be better than Southampton and Bournemouth while Pompey could be 'doing' an Aldershot!

Have nothing particular against either Southampton or Bournemouth, but Pompey going down would be fantastic, and would help offset, to some degree, the current worrying rise of our south London cousins Christal Mighty FC.
