I don't think I could pick a fave

Al Mod Cons was the first Jam I heard so Mr Clean has always been a favourite

Man in the corner shop is classic too. A lot of wisdom from someone so young.

Brighton factually.....
The Jam is one thing just about every NSCer can have a love in over. All of us of an age loved them.

I am of that certain age and hated them....

At the time Mods were the enemy, smooth casuals in waiting....

As I grew older into my twenties, my tribal hatred dwindled, and I fully appreciated the works of the Jam, still think Mods are poncy dicks though. :lolol:

Funny, I was 180° opposite. In the early 80s I was in my late teens and hated rock. Then mid 20s on started to listen and now love everything from Nirvana and Chillies to AC/DC and GnR.

The Jam / PW were the first truly political band I can remember. I admired him sticking up for his views and making a statement with such a great beat behind it. Apparently the song is based on his growing up in Woking.

Went to the same school (Sheerwater Secondary School in Woking) as The Jam boys, although they were a few years older. Remember us all wearing parka's with The Jam logo on the back. They were the go to 'cassette' whilst on long train journeys watching the Albion back in the 80s

I’ve got Setting Sons on repeat at the moment. Up there with All Mod Cons as their best album.

Favourite Jam track?
ATM Private Hell but that will probably change( again) soon. Some of the singles that weren’t part of a studio album were great, When you’re young, Butterfly Collector, Funeral Pyre, Tales from the Riverbank, Strange Town, all great tracks that never made it onto a studio album.

SNAP! is the greatest collection of music ever imo...

Just looked at my Jam / TSC / PW shelf of music and the SNAP! CD box is EMPTY!!!!!!

I do still have the (unopened) 2 box sets of CD singles though.

Butterfly Collector is a very good call. Great stuff.

Widening things a bit (and I remember how very much the Jam loyalists detested it at the time), this is superb:

How flippin GREAT is Dee C Lee?

Strange Town.
Pretty Green.
Two of my favourites.
One regret is I managed to lose my 'pop art' Jam T-shirt, purchased at a gig in '81 if I remember correctly.
