And Newcastle AND Brighton have been beaten several times this season?

I would not define 4 as several.

I agree but the official definition of several is more than two but not many. So yes 4 defeats can be called several defeats.

I may WELL be wrong but I don't believe we were 2 points clear WITH a game in hand? We dropped 5 points from last 2 games and they dropped 2 - still no game in hand is there? So wasn't it 2 points clear no game in hand...?

So they think they're 2 points clear of the Albion?

Even the most basic of stats are getting skewed.

We didn't draw 2-2 with Brentford after they went 3-2 up either. Shoddy reporting.

It wasn’t lang ago that brighton weor 2 points aheed iv wor wi' a gyem in hand, see wuh cud hev gone 5 points ahint brighton whe had a canny habit iv winnin their games. at the syem time Newcassel weor strugglin withyeut jonjo shelvey an' wuh lost at hyem tuh sheffield wednesda on boxin da. we then wuh someha managed tuh lose at blackborn eftor missin see many chances in the forst half an' allowed a team in the jacksie three tuh dee the double owor wor – both defeats by a 1-0 scoreline. and then wor 20 goal strikor dweet gayle wes injured see it wes startin tuh lyeuk fair iv a struggle. when wuh allowed a last minute goal tuh anny draaw wi' qpr 2-2 at hyem eftor ganin doon 3-0 in the fa cup at oxford things got tough. but then wud yee believe it the next da huddersfield easily beat brighton 3-1 at hyem last thorsda an' then wuh got a hard-fowt 1-0 win against an in-form derby on saturda. that wes evon though wuh agyen missed an' aaal many easy chances tuh kill off the gyem an' nearly paid fo' it wi' seconds tuh gan in stoppage time, but yedlin brilliantly headed off the line tuh gerrus the win. last sunda brighton wuh lucky tuh escape a second successive defeat at brentford whe shud hev won that gyem eftor bein 2-0 up at half time an' 3-2 up eftor fowa minutes iv stoppage time anny tuh draaw the gyem 2-2, so wuh hev gained 3 points on brighton in the last twa games an' wuh are back at the top iv the championship 2 points cleor iv chris hughton’s seagulls wi' a bettor goal difference. and sky sports pundit petor beagrie thinks the 1-0 win at derby on saturda wes crucial fo' the magpies an' still thinks wuh will win the championship: “i think recent results sha ha intense the championship is cos both Newcassel an' brighton hev been beaten several times this season.” “but eftor brighton’s last twa results, Newcassel hev the edge in the title race.” “beatin derby wes a massive result, spehully eftor droppin points at hyem tuh qpr, an' benitez’s side are the favorites fo' wor.” at this point seven yeors ago Newcassel won 13 iv their final 17 games an' drew the rest – see wuh are hopin Newcassel gan gan on a similar canny run tuh nail promotion – an' the soonor the bettor. it’s also canny that wuh seem tuh be gettin sum iv wor players back from injury – leek dweet gayle an' jack colback. finally on skybet, Newcassel are 1/16 odds-on tuh be promoted wi' brighton next in line at 1/7 odds on. and as far as winnin the championship Newcassel are 4/7 odds on wi' brighton second favorites at 13/8. we hev tuh hope those bettin odds coin yeut tuh be accurate. but startin saturda wuh hev three games in ten days at wolves (saturday), at neerwich (tuesday) an' then at hyem tuh aston villa (monday) an' wuh knar things cud change quickly.

Hope this clears things up a bit better

Our 'game in hand' over the top 6 is the one against Newcastle, so not over them.

Both wrong, I'm afraid.

Before we played Preston, the table looked like this:

Albion P24 Pts 54
N'cstle P25 Pts 52

Interesting. I always defined 2 as a couple. 3, 4 and 5 as a few. Anything more as several (6-9). Not sure why. I just have.

Another thing learnt on NSC :)

Ah yes - it goes back as far as that. They've dropped just 2 points in 4 games. We've dropped 8 points in 5 games - hence the equal games and 3 point swing. Balls, we really had a chance before Preston game to REALLY kick on didn't we...

True...But we just had to lose at somepoint. We also followed-up that Preston defeat by winning the next 2 games, including that fantastic battling victory with 10 men against Sheffield Wednesday, which shows we got that loss out of our system pretty sharpish.

The problem was the Huddersfield game where we got a complete doing on the pitch and to some extent the Brentford game. But we now have a couple of kind home games and an excellent chance to gain both points and momentum which can restore our mojo...And hopefully a nice points cushion again too!

Albion & England forever.

Not really as since October 15th v Preston Albion had only dropped points in the game against Villa until losing at Huddersfield. That is excellent form by any standards. It's far too early to even think of the recent results as a blip as we've not had anywhere near our strongest side available.
