I've just accidentally had a back to back Tim Minchin-a-thon.
Even though I know very little of his work.

I just finished listening to TM on Desert Island Discs, and then my I-pod ran onto Richard Herring's latest podcast project, interviewing Tim Minchin.

I guess talking to Kirsty Young then Richard Herring is like the 'good and bad' imps that appear on either Tom or Jerry's shoulder, but I thought TM was very good on both, a very engaging, not to mention talented fella.

Depending on your sensibilities, I would definitely recommend one or the other of these podcasts.

Love Tim Minchin, really talented and intelligent guy. A bloke singing songs about logic, probability and skepticism shouldn't be funny but he makes it work. I think people either love him or hate him though, he's that sort of character. As other posters are posting their favourite songs I'll do the same.

Thank you God for fixing the cataracts of Sams Mum is simply a brilliant song.

Minchin is brilliant. So glad he is getting the fame he deserves.

He is playing Judas in the new Jesus Christ Superstar.

Also echo comments on Matilda. It absolutely blew me away. Brilliant show.

He is So f***ing Rock!

Don't now much about him but saw a show of his on TV a while ago and was impressed (he did a very strange, yet funny, jazz song about a dinner party).

Not many talented musical comedians around, Bill Bailey is probably the only other one and I like him as well.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have an early morning flight today. Have downloaded and am now listening to the herring.
Let us know what you think.
I enjoyed Herring's interviews, but I am a bit of a fan.

It's called Storm. There's a very good animated video of it on Youtube.

I've been thinking of a 'special day' for the kids, this Summer.

Matilda may well be it.
