Torvill & Dean skating to "I won't send roses" from the musical "Mack & Mabel" sung by Robert Preston, who starred in the Broadway version. This was at Sarajevo and was the exhibition Gala at the end of the Olympics in 1984. Robert Preston was a big Broadway musical star probably most famous for his performances in "Mack & Mabel", "The Music Man" and "Victor Victoria", if his voice sounds familiar to some of you, he played Centari in "The Last Starfighter" in 1984, which was his last performance on screen prior to his death 1987.
I just thought it was the perfect video to combine a beautiful song from a musical with the finest ice dancers the world has ever seen.
