I like Bob. But I saw him at Glastonbury and he was awful. So awful the man in front of me decided to start consuming industrial amounts of what I presume was speed. He became more entertaining than Bob.

Hurricane is prob my favourite song but a big shout for Desolation Row. I could also pick numerous other great songs as well.

Good for him, surprised it wasn't the Nobel Award for Bedtime Stories?

I knew you when you had witty repartee.............a shadow of your former self. Anyone know how many albums he’s sold ..... Maybe you don’t think his voice as clear as Elton John............. You know what Catfishbwould have said to you as well....

I saw him in Singapore in 2012, and he was also awful. His voice had gone, and there were times when it was difficult to tell what song he was 'singing.' With no interaction at all with the audience (I'd done my homework and expected that), it wasn't the greatest of gigs. But it was Dylan, it was my fault, not his, that I'd never got around to seeing him before, and I'm still glad I went. There have been some great songwriters in our lifetimes but I think more would put Dylan right at the top than anyone else. I know I would.

I have enjoyed this thread Icy. When you have a back catalogue that is as strong as his is it’s inevitable some get missed - apologies if this is here earlier and I’ve missed it - from his best era in my view, an absolute classic

Much the same when I saw him at Wembley in the early 80’s. Seemed to want to out punk the punks and it was a wall of noise with most songs unrecognisable. Up there with the 35 minute set that Van Morrison did in Brighton around the same time as a massive disappointment from stars who were just going through the motions and clearly would rather not be there.

I shared a flat with a girl from Ballycastle in the early 80s. She knew VM and told me he was painfully shy

I don’t get those who were disappointed in his live shows. I have seen him several times in recent years and each time he, and his band, were brilliant. Admittedly he does not communicate much between songs, but it is the music that matters.
Each time he brought the house down.

Gives me no pleasure to say he was terrible on the night I saw him but I can only say as I saw. I have seen plenty of youtube concert footage that makes me feel very envious that he was that good on the night they were filmed.
