Serves the ****z right. Never forgiven them for what they did to Peter. Not to mention to lazy to clear the runway of slush back in 1958.

Quite. Just like Mentioning The VAR is tonight's hackneyed cliche, so Reality Check is tomorrow night's. Unless of course it's usurped by a Brussels Sprout photoshopped onto the face of the England manager.

Been looking up Scotlands WC results and I can't find them. Can you point me to a web page. Or some parchment, a scroll or a tablet with something informative in cuneiform?

Yet another unsuccessful Russian campaign for our German friends. At least they avoided coming a cropper at Stalingrad this time.

Last time Germany got knocked out of the World Cup in the group stages was in 1938 and we all know how well they took that...

I don’t think these have come up yet, so here goes :

“Where, oh where were the Germans? And quite frankly who cares!” - Barry Davies on the GB v Germany Olympic hockey final in 1988.

“They think it’s all over . . . it is now!” - Ken Wolstenholme in THAT match. :bigwave:

The "team pilot" has arrived in Frankfurt am Main. The Lufthansa flight LH343 landed at Frankfurt Airport at 15:02 hours with a delay of almost 90 minutes.

The players are back on German soil, but they are devastated!

They must be used to an unproductive 90 minutes time frame by now.
