The large number of singles, I think, says more about the demographics of fanatic (AS YOU MUST BE TO SPEND MANY HOURS A DAY ON A FOOTBALL FORUM) football supporters than the make up of the country. If the percentage of singles was the same acrss the UK we'd be facing extinction! C'mon you singles, get out there and start CONCEIVING!!!!

I have always believed that marriage is for life, and that kids should be brought up by a 2 parent, mixed gender couple.
I realise that this view is considered to be old fashioned, and fully expect to be attacked for holding this view.

Dont we all though ?
Is that not why we get married in the first place ?
Unfortunatley sometimes it does not work out.

It would be unfair on the children for them to grow up in a house with two parents who are unhappy with each other and are living a lie.

Fair enough.

Unfortunately, we don't live in such a warm and fluffy environment.

I have been married for 12 years and we have 4 fantastic children. To get to this however, I have had 2 previous marriages, my wife has one. Our eldest is mine from one of my previous and our next eldest is my wife's from her previous. We have two children together.

We all live together and life is great. You could argue that we had to go through all the previous grief to get to where we are now. Certainly, if I hadn't behaved so badly around 15 years ago it is possible that I wouldn't be married to Justine and other things that happened since then have definitely influenced our decision to have children together.

It's a funny old World.

Oh and by the way Brown is a control freak who wants to tag us all and control our lives, I hope he calls and election so we can kick the devious bastard out. I think a few on here may disagree and he will soon know who you are!!!!

Married for 7 years, with one child. The thing with the Tories and it has been since year dot, is that they are only interested in the few and not the many.

With the family, its married couples. They exclude all those hard working and loving families but who may not be married. They castigate single parents, who maybe are single through no fault of their own.

With the Health Service - yes its not perfect. But under good old Dave, he would have a system where only those either rich enough, or whose company provides it has private cover. The rest have some degraded second tier system

With the Education system see health service above.

The economy. Yes we can control inflation and pay. Create afew more million on the dole (and history on that proves me correct, until otherwise proven...of which I dont want to take the chance)

tax - yes cuts for the rich that amount to thousands, where as you and me might get an extra £2 a week off (which is then given back in higher green taxes)

As you can probably tell. I have never voted Tory and never will. Yes, the current Labour Govt has disappointed me, but its a lot better than any any Tory one

A quick analysis of the results so far ...

Of the 67 NSC posters who admit to having dabbled with some form of live-in partnership (with or without kids), 36 report themselves to be married in the style that Mr Cameron clearly approves of (ie they have a certificate to prove it and neither of them has previous form).

31 people report some sort of complication in their previous lives (or a straightforward disregard for the niceties of a 'proper' marriage).

This means that 54 per cent of couples conform with Cameron's ideal.

And 29 people voted in the poll either because they don't like to feel excluded when NSC probes into people's private affairs or because they will never find a partner in any circumstances.

*3 of the 4 above may not be true.

Is the badger really called Eric?

Married for fifteen years, twenty years in the relationship as a whole, two kids, 14 and 12.

I don't judge anyone who chooses a different lifestyle though, it's a broad church out there and who is to say what is best.

Seeing as how my kids are married with kids of their own - then I'm the sole one vote in

No kids - One or both of us used to be married to someone else

Of course if Ned voted as well that would make two votes but only one household. Would that make the poll invalid?
