Would have LOVED to have watched that, what with being off work till Toosday an' all.

But my beautiful other half has spotted that Wuthering Heights is on ITV and wants to watch that instead. As she is eight and a half months pregnant with our first child I dare not disagree...

Heathcliffe: Kathy; she's just a great big pair of tits.

Damn, I would watch it if only there wasn't a far more interesting show on Channel 4 about paint drying.

Wait till 10:45 and you can play "guessing the colour of the presenter's shirt."

Very slick, the way in which the first episode started! With Gareth talking about the opening credits, and then straight into the programme.

I LOVE the office

Indeed, far more entertaining.

The big problem I have with The Office is Gervais. He thinks he's clever, he thinks he's funny and he thinks that he writes clever comedy. I disagree with him on all three of those fronts.

For my money (although I'm only 25), Ronnie Barker was writing much funnier and cleverer stuff 30 years ago (his minister/spokesman/newsreader type monologues for a start off), and Gervais is not fit to lick his shoes. Also, while Gervais can do scripted stuff, he dies on his arse when forced to do any kind of improvisation, as anyone who remembers him utterly embarrassing himself when asked to fill some time before the next act was ready at Live Earth can testify.

Also, I tend to find that The Office is found to be funny by a lot of people because some kind of social convention dictated that it IS funny and to think otherwise marks you out as some kind of idiot.

I think the same about fawlty towers, and most of the monty python series, I think the office is brilliant though.
