A nice piece about Vicente

He can still run at you. And he’s intelligent, something many players aren’t.
Do I sound like his dad or his agent? Maybe.
I just want to see him do well. Vicente means a lot to me. He’s not just some player. He’s a symbol. Vicente’s a piece of living history from the glory years and a tie to a time that will forever live in my soul.

He is doing well, very well and Brighton and Hove Albion love him for it.

I have to keep pinching myself even at this late stage of the season. It's been absolutely fantastic so far and Vicente has just been the icing on top of the cake.

If Carling made football clubs...........

And agree about a pre-season friendly with Valencia, that would be brilliant.

So good to have him here, I just hope he stays. A banner and a pre season friendly would be a great idea.

When Vicente signed, a Spanish friend of mine was in disbelief.... "Vicente? Are you sure?"

That article reinforces everything I've ever heard about him, the local boy who became a star and stayed at his home town club even when others tried to tempt him away.

I suppose I view his time with us as his second chance, and from what I've heard about why his fitness has suffered I feel proud that as a club we've given him that opportunity.

For me it's almost cinematic, local boy does good, becomes a home town hero, has hard times, then is resurgent again....and I hope it continues and he sees out his career with us becoming an Albion legend in the process.

That may sound emotive and misty eyed, but I don't give a fvck, I'm bored of cynicism about money and business. I want to be inspired and moved by the beautiful game.

Players like Vicente, clubs like Brighton ........ they are why I love football.

Hold that clip at 19 secs. 6 Derby chasing.
I'm not sure about this 'second team' stuff, but I've always had a 'thing' about Valencia.
Let's just enjoy this beautiful player. His grace. Let's embrace him, make him feel part of US. A big big blue and white bat wing, around him.

How much further can this fairy tale season go.

First we move in to our beautiful new stadium & celebrate it by scoring an injury time winner vs Donnie
We then spend a few weeks at the top of the league.
We enjoy league cup success against Sunderland landing a big game against Liverpool.
We then struggle for a couple of months before we thrash the league leaders Southampton 3.0
That is followed by beating Newcastle in the f.a cup setting up another game against Liverpool
Our cup success dosent affect our league form & we manage to get ourselves into the top six
If that is not enough we then manage to get Vicente rodriguez fit & watch who is probably the most talented
player to put on an Albion shirt weave his magic.

When will this dream end.

ANSWER.......
With "Be-cen-tay" scoring the winning goal in the play off final at Wemberlee - it's just written !

The Valencia pre season friendly is a great idea. Someone start a thread; I don't want to be accused of nicking the idea!
A full house for sure I reckon, marvellous scenes!

Plus those extra seats and added noise.
Wonder how far in advance they plan things like this?
